New Works This Week
This little lady intrigued me. She looks so young, trying to look older and seasoned, but not accomplishing her goal. I've decided to wait to sell her since eBay does not have much action now. I'm enjoying her hanging on my wall so I may not sell her at all. This piece measures about 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" with the ribbon extending another 3" above. I love the way the papers curl around her. I'll probably use this technique again.
"Beyond the Gate" is the title of this little ACEO/ATC. This little lady looked like she was protecting something so I added "her heart" and placed it behind a gate. Notice she really wants to open the gate to let someone in. Hopefully it will be the Lord first.

Quilt and Two Altered Art on EBay
The body of this quilt measures approximately 6 1/2" x 11". The tulle and ribbon extend beyond that. I call this "Evening Prayers." It is on eBay this week.
This style of altered art comes about from my volunteering at a women's shelter. Everyone of them has a hard time getting their lives back on track and the shelter helps them, I hope. Some don't stay and enter the world too soon. The shelter protects them until they are ready and helps them get jobs and go to school. They are eased back into society and still allowed to stay until they feel they are ready to leave. This card is 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and was sold on eBay this week.

ACEO/ATC Size Quilt Finished
I started this little quilt last Saturday and it's Tuesday. We began our Vacation Bible School at church and I'm leading the music portions of the day. It takes lots of time to learn the words and motions to 10 songs and all the program and monologues that go with them. But since I must create, I do a little every day---makes me happy! I have decided to put this on eBay regardless of cost because it seems to have more visitors.

New Fiber Art Quilt on Ebay
I call this little fiber art quilt (2 1/2" x 3 1/2") "Rock Solid." It takes a lot of strength to grow in rocky ground. The roots have to dig deep. Some trees don't make it. They shrivel and die. The tree that does, however, is gnarly and strong. Sometimes when life hands us a hill, we'd rather stay down low where the going is easy. We miss a lot of deep growth if we don't climb the hill.
New Altered Art With A Story
I was intrigued with this picture I found in an old Victorian Album. It said they were missionaries to Africa in the first part of the 1900's. She looks dazed and he looks crazy. It made me think of pre-arranged marriages and years of solitude being a minister's wife--and in a foreign country no less. This piece began with the number taken from a rusty license plate that didn't sell on eBay and progressed to some chicken wire I retrieved from my back yard off the trash pile. (I haven't convinced my husband yet that rusty things are treasures.) I found very quickly a sentence from an old literature book (1927) in a story by Washington Irving called "Christmas." It says: "The scene of early love again rises green to memory beyond the sterile waste of years;..." "sterile waste of years"--and I thought of all those years spent with a man one was forced to marry. Marriage is difficult even when one loves another, but to think of life with a man one didn't love is beyond my comprehension. Her heart so wants to love him, but it became a poisonous relationship. Oh, well, just supposition. What's your take on it?

Free Photo and New Work
I found this lovely woman stuck in a corner of a consignment shop the other day and I thought she needed a home. I'd like to share her with you if you'd like to borrow her. Let me know how I can contact you to view her transformation. Since I own her, I may still doll her up in my own way. Happy creating.
I'm putting this lovely lady in the 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" format on eBay today. I love etching in gel medium and I think this one turned out well. I'm calling it "Sensing Spring." I used a little pulled fiber in the background and paper flowers in the corner making it three dimensional.
