A Posting Hiatus

My computer broke.  We had sneaked out for a couple of days to visit my daughter whose daughter had her fourth birthday (where do the years go?)  When we returned our computer was broken; I mean actually broken.  The plug in the back had literally fallen apart. ( I'm using my husband's laptop and it's like learning to type all over again.)One of our church techies is working on it but since it's the Christmas holiday, I doubt we get it back soon.  Just as well.  This week has already been overwhelming.  I've had a preschool staff luncheon on Mon.plus shopping, Preschool Christmas programs Tues. and Wed.plus shopping, I'm cooking for our mid-week meal- so buying food and preparing today, plus wrapping gifts galore for my family.  Whew!  makes my head swim.  Somethings wrong with my eye--on top of it all--very scratchy like something is in it--three days now and it's getting on my nerves.  I wish I had my picture file so I could show you my newest altered t shirts and new flower headbands but I guess they'll have to wait until the new year.  Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  May God bless you and yours.  Back to the mayhem--ahem--wonderfulness of Christmas. (One long smile and another whewwww.)

Journal Redo

I made this journal with a white open weave fringed fabric background.  I thought it looked very pretty but the lady who had commissioned it was not pleased with the fringe--said she wanted a quilted background.  OK, I quilted the heart and thought background quilting was going to be too busy.  That's what she wanted, though, so that's what I made.  I took me about 3 hours more to piece my own design, glue it, tweek it beyond the resonable and make a "presentation page."  Thankfully, she really liked it--not my favorite but it turned out ok.  She liked it so much that I'm making another one using a cabinet card and pearls (like a baby book that I've done before.)  So...I guess when the customer is right, there are rewards even though the work is tedious.  I STILL LOVE MY JOB!!

Roses Off The Shoulder

Do you know that photographing black is nearly impossible, especially when one doesn't have a super great camera?  Maybe you can get an idea if you click on the photo to enlarge it.  I've put them on only one shoulder since the shirt is a wide scoop neck style--new way of doing what's already been done by me before.

New Shirts this Weekend

Five of my shirts sold this weekend so I had to buy some more because someone wants a smaller size of this shirt.  The original had a rounded neckline and all I could find was a V neck but she said that would be OK.  I love making things that sell (smile.)  Have a great weekend.

Shirts for the Shop

I've been busy lately creating new shirts for S'More Couture.  Amy really likes the petals shirts and says that a certain trendy clothing store named "A....." has nothing on these.  I need compliments like that to keep me motivated.  So...today I'm back at it with new ways to enhance this design.  I've got to Christmas shop some more, too.  Oh, the days are long in December, not short.  I wouldn't have them any other way.  Have a great winter day.  (Heard even Alabama has snow.  Now what's up with that?)

Another Commissioned Necklace

Another dear friend--another commissioned necklace.  I'm so pleased to be able to make these little lovelies.  I get great joy in handling the beads, choosing which to use and working them into a necklace.  I love the outcome and I feel blessed when my friends like them, too.  Since this one has the same theme as the necklace of yesterday's post, I've used the same Bible verse: Psalm 96:13--"Let all creation rejoice before the Lord."  I made two ruffled pink shirts yesterday but forgot to take pictures.

Crocheted Necklace - Commissioned Work

One of my good friends from church commissioned this necklace as a Christmas gift for a family member (to be).  I've chosen the scripture from Psalm 96:13 to accompany it:
Let all Creation
Rejoice before the Lord.
Have a great weekend.

I'm Making Things for Christmas

These three shirt pretties are going in the little shop around the corner, S'More Couture, and I'm hoping that someone buys them for Christmas.  I've tried a new ruffle.  The black can't be seen but I've decorated the long sleeve by adding lace and making a hole for the thumb in the seam.  Amy said she liked them so I hope someone else does too.
