Fluffles
Not a ruffle, not a fluff but a Fluffle. That's what I put around the neck of this shirt. You can find it in the shop. I like it so much that I may even decorate one of my own shirts. Hope you have a great week.

Black and White Flowers
These fulfill a commission I had for Amy at the shop. I trade with her for jewelry and trinkets. It works for me and sometimes she pays me when she's low on jewelry. She makes barrettes out of old earrings and pins and I get her leftovers. One woman's junk is another's treasure:) Off to do a couple more necklaces for my sale Oct. 9. Busy, busy.

Pastel Beads
I love the colors of beads in this necklace and so did my friend. It looked good on her when we had lunch the other day. I'll have to make another one for myself now.

Licorice and Vanilla Swirl
...well, maybe not as sweet. This is one of a group of flowers I made for Amy at the shop. I have four more to go plus another shirt that has been requested in another size. I also have a request for a typewriter key bracelet and a pair of earrings. Gotta get busy. Have a great Friday.

Snow At Harvest Crocheted Necklace
"Like the coolness of snow at harvestime is a trustworthy messenger to those who send him; he refreshes the spirit of his master." Proverbs 24:13
The Bible is so poetic at times and this verse was used in our church's morning worship a couple of weeks ago. Many times as I listen to God's word, I get ideas for creating--coincidental? I don't think so. I collaged a little brass charm that says "snow at harvest" and attached it to this necklace where you see the harvest, the sky and...snow. Do you see it? This one's in my Etsy shop (please, see the side bar and click on the photo to see more description of this necklace.) "The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few."--Matthew 9:37. In all you do, do it for the Lord.

Forever Necklace
I purchased a little charm bracelet for a quarter the other day at a garage sale thinking that I could maybe use some of the charms. The little "forever" charm grabbed me (lower left hand corner). I try to put scripture to my works whenever I can and this one popped out: "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever."
2 Chronicles 16:34.
I'm loving using all my "collections" to make these necklaces. I'm to share a table at an Octoberfest and hope they all sell. Each is so unique. I choose a color combo, set up a grid to place my stuff and try to stay in order with the colors and charms, etc. I love throwing in the unexpected, like on this one: Vintage turquoise rhinestone earring, section of a bracelet I took apart, marble shaped clear glass button, and a rusty washer. It's so fun to work them together into one beautiful creation. I enjoy trying them out with the thought that I'm testing them when I'm really liking to wear them--me a jewelry wearing hater! Go look up your Grandmother's button box and see what you can find--hidden treasures.

Busy ReCreating Shirts
I'm back at it--trying to fill the shop with new shirts. I didn't get out of Deena's house yesterday with one like the black, except with black beads. I took it to show her what I've been doing and she wanted it so we traded some of her goodies for it. I'm back at it--remaking more shirts, leggings and creating new flowers. I've been busy with other things lately and it feels good to have a few days to create. Have a good day yourself.

Earth and Sky Crocheted Necklace
It's funny--other people's viewpoints--I was telling some of my non-artistic friends that I give my necklaces names and they looked at me in a very knowing, "she's out of her gourd," way. Then I told them, "This one is named 'Earth and Sky." They looked at it and gave me the most blank look--they just couldn't see it so I explained the colors and they again gave me that gourd look. When I told the name to my artsy friend, Deena, she looked and immediately said, "Oh, I see it--blue and white is the sky and browns are the earth." I love her so.

New Shirts
Here it is September and I'm JUST making shirts with longer sleeves. Better late than never, I guess. These go in the little shop around the corner, S'More Couture. I've more awaiting their remake as I speak.
The earrings go to a friend who loves owls--easy, inexpensive but cute.

The Tea Party
I drug out all my red transferware plates, used the tablecloths, tables and chairs provided by our church and the woman at the back, Marilyn, and I set up this little tea party for our Red Hat group.
This gives you a little idea about how we set up the tables. I don't know how this table got three hot pots, but... oh, well. I used my "never used" stemware as well and 26 of my missmatched cups and saucers. Eclectic... that's what I like to call this style of decorating.
Everyone brought something to eat and eat, they did.
Since it was at the church, our pastors decided to crash the party but, at least, they wore their red hats. My husband is the one on the left and the instigator.
Let's not forget the desserts.
This photo is a little blurry but I wanted a close-up of the center decorations: vintage doily, old music, stacked vintage books, child's tea set, tea pot, sugar and creamer and a handmade place card--stamped with a lady in a hat in plum ink and handwritten at the bottom--simple but effective. Nothing earthshattering here, but a lot of time and fun. The ladies (and gentlemen) surely liked it. Now, home to put the cups away until next year.

Vintage Goodies Necklaces
I've been wanting to make a necklace for a week but with children 3 and under playing here, it was impossible. I did these today and put them in my vintage shop, Lydia's Lineage Attic. I called them Fall Splendor and Autumn Bliss. I have a couple more necklaces in my sallylsmith Shop as well (please, see the sidebar.) That's where I sell my artistic endeavors and art and craft supplies. Hope your are enjoying cool weather--the first signs of Fall. Ahhhh.....
Daniel 2:21--"He changes times and seasons."

Visiting the Gang
We've been spending some time with our family the last week and I haven't been creating. I'm hosting a "Tea Party" tomorrow--photos maybe later and, no, this is not my family but they look zany enough to be. Have a great week.
