House on the Rock

I made this card for the April Inspiration from Art in the Word yahoo group. The scripture reference is in Matthew 7:24-25--"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." I've known this passage for a long time but I had never noticed that rock is singled out "the rock" as if it were the only one on which to build. And of course, it is.

This art started as a playing card that I sanded, painted on both sides and adhered ephemera from four sources. I added extra branches with a micro pen.
