Malachi 2:15--"Has not the Lord made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife (husband) of your youth."
It took a long time to find this verse. I knew it was there but couldn't remember the exact wording. We don't read Malachi much but this little book of the Bible holds gems of wisdom. God's people do not realize how important the marriage vow is. We cast it aside at the slightest whim and entertain thoughts and actions that are not consistent with godly living. God wants holiness from us. I know, I know...that's impossible, but we are to try our best to attain that virtue. Straying from our pledges to each other is one of the commandments we are not to break. I made this piece of art for a couple up in years who have stayed together through it all. They are a wonderful testiment to faithfulness.
The base of this art is an old college annual on which I adhered a copy of the wedding picture, tulle, ephemera, old lace, ribbon, pearls, wire and I etched in gel medium and highlighted it with gold paint and black stain.
